3D Printing at Gadget Show Live 2015

This would appear to be the emerging technology, with numerous stands at Gadget Show Live 2015 all offering us a taste of what’s to come. Most apparent though, was that the price point of 3D printers are getting to the affordable ranges for consumers, with some models coming in at less than £300.

What do they have in store for gaming though?

A good question, and here’s just a few things I could think of;
· You've broken the battery cover on your controller? Print a new one...
· Sick of controllers laying everywhere? Print a holder...
· Want a cool model your own custom game character? Print one...

There'll be other uses too, just use your own imagination.

With NASA using 3D printers on the ISS so that astronauts can print out the tools they need at any time without having to wait for them on the next cargo run and 3D printed prosthetics for animals and humans alike, the market for these devices is huge. Manufacturers of small parts should be concerned by the idea that soon people will be able to 3D print exact parts for what they need, rather than having to buy a pack of items that might not fit the bill and leave the consumers with unnecessary spares.
