Five Predictions For PlayStation Experience

Five Predictions For PlayStation Experience

PlayStation Experience is back! The third annual PSX, Sony’s own show dedicated to everything PlayStation, takes place in Anaheim (the home of the Mighty Ducks) this weekend and fans of the PS4, Vita, VR and everything else PlayStation will be waiting with baited breath to see the latest information. With the PlayStation Blog recently detailing all the attending publishers and developers, here’s what we reckon might surface during the PlayStation Showcase.

Crash Bandicoot remake is Given a Release Date

Activision will make a not-so-surprising appearance on the above the list. While it is more likely that the new relationship with Sony hints towards the announcement of the latest Call of Duty content (think maps, modes and gear), let’s not forget Activision also own the rights to Crash Bandicoot. The remastering of the three original games was a surprise announcement at E3 back in the summer and the hardcore PlayStation audience, who were the ones insisting they wanted to #savethebandicoot, are surely the best people to give the good news too. I’m holding out for a spring release.

Naughty Dog Tease Uncharted 4 Single-Player DLC

PlayStation’s flagship studio are of course down on the list of attending developers. Their most recent release, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, continues to impress and receive support - earlier this month multiplayer received a large update as well as introducing a single-player survival mode - but everyone is after a hefty chunk of single-player DLC. If Left Behind - The Last of Us’ DLC - is anything to go by along with Naughty Dog’s narrative prowess, whatever they have up their sleeve should look to enhance the relationships developed and concluded in Uncharted 4. Whatever it turns out to be, the positive thing is that we’ll all get a chance to jump back into to Nathan Drake’s shoes.

One Last Look at Horizon: Zero Dawn Before February’s Release

Horizon: Zero Dawn is beginning to get to that point in it’s life where it’s frequent appearances twinned with Sony’s constant marketing are making people start to reach the excitement cliff. It’s time to shit or get off the toilet. With Guerilla down to appear at PSX, it’s likely we’ll get another story trailer or extensive gameplay demo trailer, a confirmation of the release date and then Guerilla will return to Holland under a shadow of secrecy until it’s time for Sony’s next big IP.

Gran Turismo Sport Detailed and a New Release Date Announced

We should all have been on the track at this point, but when are games ever on time these days? Gran Turismo Sport was just another name added to the list of perished release dates. Delays can be anything between one-month to multiple years (*cough cough* Final Fantasy XV, The Last Guardian) but with Polyphony Digital’s name on that list it confirms GT Sport will be there. With a lengthy gameplay video, showing customisation and even career modes, I reckon we’ll be playing it by May of next year making it perfect timing for the start of the motor-racing season.

Bloodborne 2 Teased

Bloodborne, developed by both From Software and Japan Studio, was a surprise hit and favourite game for many PlayStation gamers receiving positive reviews across the board last year. Hits mean money and in business language, sequels to hits mean bigger money. Though it’ll be very early in it’s life cycle - if it’s real I wouldn’t expect anything before 2018 - a teaser of nothing but epic classical tones, bleak skies and a shriek of an unimaginable beats will be enough to start the juices flowing. Failing that, Japan Studio’s appearance at the show could be just for a hands on look of The Last Guardian
