CS:GO isnt worthy of the Countersrike name, not by a longshot, hell CSS was barely worthy of it either. Theres good reason CS 1.6 still outplays it on Steam everyday, and even thats an atrocity compared to 1.3 :P
Ive no doubt it will sell a zillion copies purely because its CS, but as a CS title its trash.
As a n00b can you explain to me why CSS is broken, in my experience I run round a lot, die a lot and occasionally fire a shot and it hits a enemy, never really had a issue with errors / broken textures / crashing ect?
Seems pretty well working to me?
Hitboxes, size and interpolation compared to what you see on the screen is horribly innacurate in comparison to the HL engine. Basically things that should hit wont at times, no matter who you are.
Spray patterns, hardcore CS players know spray patterns down to the location of every bullet, in source they decided to ruin that, and even added randomization, taking away massive skill elements.
Netcode and Hardware, put simply, you can put the same player on several different machines with different hardware, even if all running the source engine at the same FPS, and he will perform differently on every one regardless of skill. Me and Trep actually demonstrated this at a LAN.
Im going to stop before I turn this into a rambling essay, but it does go on and on, and CS:GO adds to this even further, taking every element source got wrong and making it even worse to be honest.
Oh, and getting a whopping 10 in 1 damage with a deagle to the face point blank... yeah.
There is very little randomisation in any quality weapon, beyond wear and tear, and weathers conditions, that's the whole point, everything is accountable and controllable, the way it was in the original CS, not in the terrible iterations afterwards.
