Kojima Shows Off Fox Engine, Reveals New Metal Gear Title.

Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind the Metal Gear series displayed the power of its new Fox Engine that will be behind future titles from the Kojima Productions studio. However instead of simply showing off a tech demo, Kojima had other plans and ran a demo of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

"This announcement is a challenge from Kojima Productions to the world," - Hideo Kojima.

The demo initally displayed how the new engine can handle weather effects and how they play on objects and clothing. The demo then switched to Big Boss crawling to avoid searchlights which were combing the area, yes that's right Big Boss, Ground Zeroes is another prequel to the Metal Gear Solid timeline. Thankfully these lights did not prevent our much loved protagonist from getting in a rather sneaky stealth kill on an unsuspecting victim.

The showcase then switched pace as Big Boss jumped into a jeep and called for a helicopter evacuation from the danger zone. The idea behind this title is that instead of being spotted resulting normally in your timely demise from being swarmed by guards that gun you down, the game will let you attempt to escape with your life in this new open world playground, a first for Snake to be let loose in.

The demo itself was running on a fairly respectable current gen PC rig which leads us to believe that their next title will be hitting the PC market, the engine and game are also being tooled to run on current gen/future gen consoles along with cloud gaming

Unfortunately, Konami prevented any methods of taking photographic or filmed materials from this showcase event however we do have one image which you can see below.

Wasn't it confirmed yonks ago that all games from now on running the Fox Engine would be multi-plat, PC included?

Not sure if I'm happy, mind. MGS was alright on PC, I guess, but MGS2 was an abomination. Having absolutely nothing since then on PC, including any of the games that let you know any info about Big Boss means there's gonna be a **** load of confused PC only players.
