That's A Very Nice Bank Balance You Have There.

Well bugger me sideways with a Portal Gun, if we haven't received enough of a battering from the Summer Steam Sales, those b**tards are at it again with new deals every day between August 2nd - 5th in celebration of Quakecon.

So what can we expect from the sales? Well everything id Software and Bethesda related, from Quake To Skyrim. Brink to Commander Keen. Everything up for grabs from 50% - 75% off.

Or you could go all out and get the entire Quakecon Pack containing the likes of all the above and more for 76% off.

So head over to Steam and open your wallets to appease the saviour that is Gabe Newell.

well win8 is gonna suck ******* balls for gaming so expect steam to jump ship and blizzard following them.

Yep, but I expect that most games that are ported from console will be Windows App store exclusives leaving little else for Steam ect, will have to wait and see on that one though.

Now all they need to do is get people to install Linux..

However, nowhere states that Steam won't run on Win8, does it? Just that MS are trying to make more out of their own platform by pushing XBL on there?

No it will run fine, I just feel that games devs will be more inclined to release there Windows based games on the app store rather than Steam.

And if MS nail the pricing strategy the way Steam has (cheap as chips, regular sales, good selection) - would it still be a problem?

If they have a Windows App/Game Summer Sale and don't use GFWL with everything, I'll happily use it.

I was about to reply with the statement that Xbox do a 'Deal of the Week', so there's usually always something on. However, that has just made me think that they usually want a gold account (read monies) for that shizzle. Bit of a sore point, if your not on Xbox already, using it there.

We'll know more soon, since Win 8 just hit RTM.

Oh, if it has a Gold account for online it can FO.

Oh yea im not saying I don't like it, ill by my games from whereever as long as I can get a good deal and digital download (and don't have to use Origin), My point is, Gabes underwear must be stained right now.

Haha yeah, very true. But, surely some actual competition in that space will be good for them?

After all, they've pretty much had it their way for a fair few years now. If they were called Microsoft, they'd have antitrust cases against them by now...
