Uber Entertainment, creators of the Monday Night Combat franchise, have launched their Kickstarter project for a new RTS game inspired by the classic Total Annihilation series.
If funded, Planetary Annihilation aims to continue to the traditions of huge battles featuring Commander units and streamed resources, but extending the scope to allow war to be waged across multiple planets, moons and asteroids.
The originial successor to the TA crown, Supreme Commander, featured insanely proportioned 'experimental' units that could turn the tide in the later stages of battle. Giant spider tank not big enough for you? Fine; Planetary Annihilation will allow you to strap rockets to nearby asteroids and lob them at your enemies.
Uber are promising the option for multiplayer against up to 40 players using dedicated servers, but first they need your donations. The Kickstarter is set to run for a month, with a target of $900,000.
