Swords & Soldiers HD PC Review

Swords & Soldiers is a fresh game to Steam, but has already had some airtime on the Wii. The premise of the game is to beat the oncoming enemies, using a variation of different units at your disposal. You also have the use of some spells, which can perform various tasks, like healing your characters up, or damaging your enemies.

The game takes on an RTS angle, albeit quite loosely. You're given a range of units to send out on their way to batter the opponent into submission. Like all good RTS' though, you're going to need some resources to pay for your team of hell bent missionaries.

Starting with some gold miners, you swiftly develop enough resources to create a team that will take down most, if not all of the enemies they see. Unfortunately for the game, it becomes too easy too quickly, mostly by hammering out as many gold miners as you can, this usually leaves you with enough resources to continually create characters for your team.

The 'S' in RTS, also doesn't really apply because of this, there's no real definition of the talents each character can do, at least not enough that it makes a difference to what you choose.

Overall, Swords & Soldiers is a fun, if somewhat limited game that's sure to while away 10 minutes of your time here and there.
