ARK Goes All 'Thunderdome' in New Update

Studio Wildcard has announced a new battle mode headed to ARK: Survival Evolved next month.

Survival of the Fittest, as the mode is titled, is a brand new fight-to-the-perma-death contest, bringing a whole new angle to the ARK world. 

In what is a Hunger Games meets Mad Max's Thunderdome type arena, contestants begin in a neutral area in which they can gather resources and prepare for battle. They remain there until the countdown reaches zero at which point they "descend from the sky onto the ARK where they will carry out the dash for goods and fight for their lives."

The new mode will be available on 1st August at which point, there will be a 35 team tournament streamed on Twitch. 

ARK: Survival Evolved is currently in Early Access, with a full release not expected until sometime next year.
