Attend the Power-Up Digital Games Conference on Discord

The first Power-Up Digital Games Conference happened in July 2016 across several days packed with 22 guest speakers from across the videogame landscape. Founders of studios, legends in the field, indie developers... If you're curious, check out the playlist of talks here.

What's more important, however, is that the second Power-Up Digital Games Conference is happening in just a couple of weeks, and you're invited! So long as you have an electronic device and an internet connection, you can load up Discord (there's an app, browser or mobile app) and join in the talks when they begin, 2nd February 2017 and running to 5th February.

Most of the talks are geared towards people who are involved in videogame design - whether they are programming, writing or doing art, but everyone can get a little knowledge out of it.

If you're curious who is speaking this time, here's an alphabetical list of the 31 confirmed speakers:

  • Becky Taylor (Game Industry Consultant)

  • Sean Siem (Director of Operations VR/AR, Jetstream Software)
  • Sebastien Pacetti (CEO, Yunoia)
  • Stephen Kick (President, Night Dive Studios)
  • Stephen Machuga (President, Stack Up)
  • Tyler Coleman (Founder, Retora Game Studios)

If you want to find out how to register yourself as an attendee for free (it's on Discord remember, so open to everyone) check out the official site here.

We attended the first one and it was very informative, even if you don't want to make a videogame. It is geared more towards people who have that as a goal, but even if you just want to ask the president of Night Dive Studios which retro title they are bringing back next, you should go along.

I often attend conferences in my underwear. Well, I used to anyway. Don't get invited to many these days.
