British Weekend in War Thunder

This weekend, Gaijin Entertainment has lined up a series of British-centric activites for War Thunder players.

WW2 Chronicles

Continuing with the 'WW2 Chronicles' event series, we will have Battle of Britain events for Arcade, Realistic to Simulator battles.

Battle of Britain

August 23rd, 1940, the German command have commenced operation "Blitz". German bombers are approaching London from France. Allied forces need to intercept the enemy flotilla and prevent the bombing of the capital.

Battle of Britain. The Hardest Day

Around noon on August the 18th, forces of the 2nd Air Fleet of the Luftwaffe made a series of attacks totalling about 850 sorties. The objective of the Germans is to cripple the air bases at Biggin Hill and Kenley that were part of 11th defense group in the south-east of England.

The events will be available for a day. and will count towards the 'Victor's Trophy' for 225 wins in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of V-E day. More information is available here in one of our previous posts.

British Trophies

Next up, over the next 2 days, from 0700 GMT 11th of April to 0700 GMT 13th of April, there is a series of achievements to get premium British planes, the Hellcat Mk. 1 and the Avenger Mk. 1.

These games can be done either in Events or Random Battles as long as the requirement of a fighter or bomber of Ranks 2-5 are met. Completing stage 5 for each of  the challenges gives a 100% chance of getting the premium plane.

shot 2015.04.11 17.44.12The fighter line of achievements gives a 'Fighter's Trophy' at each of the 5 stages, which gives a chance at getting the Hellcat Mk. 1, as well as other rewards such as boosters, silver lions, wagers and discounts. To complete stage 5, players are required to kill 175/58/35 enemy aircraft in AB/RB/SB while flying a fighter of Ranks 2-5.

shot 2015.04.11 17.52.13The bomber line of achievements gives a similar 'Bomber's Trophy' at each of the 5 stages as well, for the Avenger Mk. 1. Similarly, to complete stage 5, players are required to 200/100/100 enemy ground units in AB/RB/SB while flying a bomber of Ranks 2-5.

These planes typically go for 1000 GE for the Avenger and 1300 GE for the Hellcat. This is a good time as ever to get these planes for free and level up in the British tree using the bonuses from the premium planes!

Your fighter and bomber exploits can be tracked under Profile/Achievements/WW2 Chronicles and selecting either British Bomber and British Fighter. More information is available here.
