Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Trailer

It's true, Nintendo have decided to do two things they have rarely attempted. Especially at the same time.

A puzzle game set in the Mushroom Kingdom that doesn't star Mario in any way.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is an upcoming puzzle game for the Wii U that sees Captain Toad trying to save Toadette from danger across 70 cube-shaped levels. As he's carrying a heavy backpack, he cannot jump: he can however run like the clappers.

Captain Toad first appeared in some stages in Super Mario 3D World, so it was only a matter of time before he received his own title. It will be on the Wii U and make good use of the gamepad to control levels among other things.

The release is staggered over the next three months worldwide, releasing as follows:

13th November 2014 in Japan, 5th December 2014 in North America, 9th January 2015 in Europe and 10th January 2015 in Australia.
