Len Wiseman To Reboot The Mummy

Stephen Sommers' The Mummy trilogy was hugely successful for Universal having grossed over $1.25 billion worldwide on a combined budget of around $323 million so it should come as no surprise to hear they're looking at doing a reboot.

Set to direct is Underworld, Underworld: Evolution and Total Recall helmer Len Wiseman with Jon Spaihts (The Darkest Hour, Prometheus) writing the script, which is said to be darker and in a modern setting, and Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci producing.

Oh noes, the 3rd Mummy movie was dreadful. I can only hope they don't screw it up again as the first two are defo part of my top 20.
