After numerous delays, at one point having Will Smith interested in starring with Steven Spielberg directing, filming of the US remake of Park Chan-wook Oldboy (the second film in his Vengeance Trilogy and based on the Manga of the same name) is well underway with Josh Brolin starring as the main character who is kidnapped and locked up for fifteen years. When he is released he sets out to find out why.
The remake also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Samuel L. Jackson and is being directed by Spike Lee aiming for a release next year.
