In a move that should surprise nobody, Paramount have given the go ahead for a fifth entry in their popular (and lucrative) Paranormal Activity series.
The fourth film is currently in cinemas and in its first week (so far) has grossed over $58 million worldwide. Considering its budget of around $5 million it was a sure thing the studio would start the ball rolling on a followup.
The first three films in the series grossed over $577 million during their theatrical runs (so that amount doesn't include sales/rentals for the home market) on a combined budget of around $8 million.
