Channel 4's popular comedy drama series Shameless is set to end after the upcoming eleventh season, which is set to air early next year, show creator Paul Abbott has announced, citing the death of his father as being a factor in the decision.
Since it began David Threlfall has starred as Frank Gallagher, the head of a large and dysfunctional family living in Manchester, the series also featured Rebecca Atkinson, Elliott Tittensor and Alice Barry.
Last year it spawned a US remake which stars William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum and Justin Chatwin which is set to return for its third season early next year.
