Marvel Heroes Patch 1.49 Brings Achievements

Marvel Heroes Patch 1.49 Brings Achievements

The biggest change that the 1.49 patch for Marvel Heroes 2016 brings, are hundreds of achievements!

Unfortunately they are not all retroactive, so although you may have already reached level 60, you may not get the achievement for it until your next character does so.

Simply hit V and it will bring up the window showing you the whole lot of them. Most are available to any character, though some are character-specific.

Now, for the rest of the patch notes:

AGE OF ULTRON GAME MODE

The Age of Ultron is upon us!

In the new Age of Ultron game mode, you and your allies will have to battle to protect the city against Ultron’s hordes of sentries - and eventually take down Ultron himself!

Age of Ultron is a 5-player mode that will test your team against multiple stages that each have unique objectives. Coordinate with your team to stop Ultron’s widespread assault - the faster your group can defeat each wave, the better your rewards will be when your team is victorious!

To queue for this mission, simply select the Age of Ultron mode from the Challenges tab at any Waypoint.

NEW HERO: VISION

Vision has joined the roster of Marvel Heroes 2015!

Vision's primary resource is Solar Energy - with this resource Vision can unleash short bursts of deadly ranged attacks, or use it to empower himself temporarily and augment his melee attacks. This resource depletes quickly, but also regenerates at a fast pace.

While Vision is allowing his Solar Energy to replenish, he can use his Phasing and Density Shifting powers to engage enemies in melee range. Vision is able to shift between his Phasing state and an Ultra-Dense state; whenever you choose to enter the Ultra-Dense mode, Vision's melee powers will automatically shift into an Ultra-Dense version of that power with completely different properties. Learning when to shift modes and how to utilize the different properties of these powers in their respective states will be key to mastering Vision's gameplay.

Vision is also capable of taking control of other nearby robots and reconfigure their A.I. to turn them into his ally. Once an A.I. is reprogrammed, you can send a command to temporarily overclock the robot's combat performance, or even force it to self-destruct - with explosive results!

SCARLET WITCH 52 REVIEW

Wanda presented an opportunity to really renovate her kit, keeping all the successful elements of what was there, and adding many new powers and mechanics to grant players options to build around. Her unique power set allows us to get creative with interplay on proc effects, random chance, and high variance to make her playstyle unlike anyone else.

In doing this, we also wanted to ensure her current playstyle of debuffs and DoT rotations were not only still available, but supported with new powers and mechanics of their own, to make even the most veteran Scarlet Witch player be able to try out something new.

Additionally, we've updated a ton of Scarlet's visuals, giving old powers new life with updated special effects. Scarlet Witch’s unique items have also been revamped to go along with her hero review!

Hex Bolt - Now deals ‘Chaos Damage’, a mechanic unique to Wanda. Chaos Damage will be an incredibly high variance, bringing the min and max rolls much farther apart, and the base damage is increased 20%. For example, a power that once dealt 80-120 damage would instead deal 96-144 to start with, then get its variance amplified, resulting in an end value of 1-239 damage.

Chaos Rift - Previously Combusting Hex. Visuals completely rebuilt from the ground up. Applies Vulnerability, and has a chance on cast to instantly destroy minor enemies.

Chaos Magic - Brutal Rating has been added to go along with the chaotic theme, and the Restoration effect now restores an instant, flat amount of spirit instead of granting spirit over time. This will allow her to regenerate spirit while in combat to some degree. Chaos Magic also now houses the cleanse active formerly found in Rewind Reality.

Chaotic Hex - Now deals Chaos Damage. This power will serve well as the ‘chaos build’ single target spirit spender.

Chaos Warp - Scarlet Witch is now able to move while channeling, and the power heals Scarlet when she damages enemies. The duration is now extended for as long as the hotkey is held down.

Hex Orb - Now deals Chaos Damage, and has been converted into a cooldown layer that can hold up to three charges. These charges are gained slowly over time, but are gained rapidly whenever Scarlet deals ‘chaos damage’. The charges are displayed in the secondary resource bar when Scarlet places a point into this power.

NEW - Beasts from Beyond - New potent cooldown power that conjures up random nightmare creatures from alternate realities and dimensions in an area to attack enemies (just the visuals of the hits are creatures, this is not a summon power). Deals Chaos Damage and makes enemies struck vulnerable to further Chaos Damage. This power shares a cooldown with Dark Hex.

NEW - Bouncing Hex - New hex inspired by a brief clip from one of the Age of Ultron trailers. The hex bounces between enemies and has a chance to start additional bounce chain each time it hits an enemy (sometimes making for some crazy chain hex spiderwebs of destruction).

Obfuscation - Has gained all defensive passive affixes from her kit, and it’s active has become the former Chaos Shield. The Chaos Shield has been converted to use the new Protected team mechanic.

Winds of Chaos / Chaos Shift - No changes.

Unmake Reality - Wanda’s current Ultimate is now her Signature, with a much faster animation. Activating it grants a ‘chaos control’ buff, causing all random effects to always occur (even from items!), and all Chaos damage to roll its maximum value. This power also alters the properties of some of Wanda’s other spells for the duration, such as Dark Hex. When properly combined with Chaos Damage or random effects, Unmake Reality can be utilized to incredible effect.

Bewitching Hex - Restores additional Spirit based on the number of Disruption spells recently cast.

Reality Implosion - This power now applies Weakness.

Dark Hex - Replaces Cthtonic Gloom. This power deals increased damage and causes a unique effect depending on which debuffs you have applied to the target: Ravenous Binding will lower Dark Hex’s cooldown, Iron Maiden will cause Dark Hex to leave a damage over time effect, and Reality Implosion will cause enemies to take additional damage from all Disruption spells. After setting up an enemy with the full combo, Dark Hex will be used as a ‘finisher’ of sorts, capitalizing on the other debuffs. This power shares a cooldown with Beasts from Beyond.

Bewildering Hex - No changes.

NEW - Iron Maiden - New debuff that makes enemies take damage whenever they attempt to attack.

NEW - Chaos Blast - New single target Spirit-spending ranged blast, which deals bonus damage based on each different Disruption power recently used. We used the Age of Ultron portrayal of Scarlet Witch's power set to make this projectile look more unique than her others. This serves as an alternate single target spirit spender for players that layer debuffs and DoTs.

NEW - Ultimate (No More…) - Wanda hovers into the air with red chaos visuals before unleashing a torrent of magic at enemies. At the end of the channel, she releases the chaos energy with a big shockwave dealing massive damage. Buff gained during this Ultimate is unchanged. This power was visually inspired directly by the 'No More Mutants' comic panels and other similar comic reference material.

Ruinous Flux and Cloak of Terror removed in favor of ranged application methods of these powers, as Scarlet Witch shouldn’t need to get so close to targets. These powers have also historically caused a lot of visual clutter and some performance issues. Ruinous Flux is now a minor hex proc on Chaos Magic as a short duration effect.

Corrosive Hex, Warding Veil, Rewind Reality, and Hex Binding removed as other powers will be performing their tasks in a more usable fashion.

BLACK WIDOW

Kevlar Enhanced Bodysuit - Now grants an additional 10% Damage Negation.

Coup de Grace - Now deals an additional +25% bonus damage. The damage buff granted by this power now increases all damage by 10% for 10 seconds instead of granting damage rating.

Deadly Kick - Critical Damage bonus increased to 100%, matching Brutal Damage bonus added, and now deals an additional +25% bonus damage. The damage buff granted by this power now increases all damage by 10% for 10 seconds instead of granting damage rating. Area of effect changed to a frontal cone in exchange for the increased damage potential.

Rolling Grenade & Timed Explosive - These powers will no longer break stealth when they detonate. They will only break stealth on their initial activation.

UPCOMING CHANGES:

Bullet Barrage - This power will deal more damage to the first target hit but 10% less damage to each enemy hit after the first (minimum 60%). Tooltip damage will appear much higher because instead of hitting twice per activation, it will hit once, making DPS calculations simpler for most players. This change will likely make it into the patch next week.

HAWKEYE

Flash Bomb - Now passively grants 10% Damage Negation. The damage buff granted on activation now lasts for a duration instead of only applying to the next attack. This power now unlocks at level 26. Evasive Arrow moves to this power’s place in the Combat Skill tree.

Rocket Arrow - Animation time has been reduced for both non-charge and full-charge mode, making this power much more responsive.

Three Arrow Burst - This power’s buffering window has been slightly reduced, allowing it to be canceled into other powers more quickly. This should result in the power feeling slightly more responsive.

Boomerang Arrow - Slight tuning adjustment resulting in increased damage for this power.

World’s Greatest Archer - This power now unlocks at level 28. Trident Arrow moves to this power’s place in the Archery tree.

UPCOMING CHANGES:

Hawkeye's Acrobatic Roll - Our last bit of change to Hawkeye did not make this build, but we'll still be incorporating a new animation to Acrobatic Roll, and also make it snappier and move farther per activation. This will likely come in next week as well.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue that caused overhead health bars to appear over some objects incorrectly in certain circumstances, such as Magneto's Debris orbs.
  • Reduced time to respawn for side bosses in Patrol zones from 5 minutes to 3 minutes. Loot has not been reduced commensurately, meaning this is a net buff to loot from these bosses over time.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Star-Lord's Incendiary Cluster Bomb from applying the Vulnerability effect conferred by Starship Uplink under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing STASH tabs to occasionally not be purchasable after region changing.
  • Fixed a bug that could sometimes cause Team-Ups to not use their powers.
  • Onslaught should no longer target players with his prison ability while that player is using their Ultimate power.
  • Madison Jeffries' Rank Tooltip no longer states the wrong rank and item quality.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing Ultron boss music from playing consistently.
  • Luke Cage's Misty Knight summon AI now knows how far a gun can fire and will stop inching toward enemies while shooting.
  • Percent bonuses to both Summon Health and Summon Duration will display 1 decimal place now.
  • Thor's Lightning Hammer visually fixed to display Storm Torrent FX while wearing the Ultimate and Beta Ray Bill costumes.
  • Cyclops' Strike Team - Angel power no longer erroneously halts Spirit recovery.
  • Daredevil's Devil of Hell's Kitchen Accuracy team buff should now always trigger when critically hitting or brutally striking.
  • Subtitles added to Red Onslaught motion comics.
  • We discovered that Falcon's SMG's were jamming far too frequently, and have gotten him two brand new replacements.
  • Fixed a display issue that prevented Thor's God Blast tooltip from showing the +5 Ranks to All Powers portion of its buff effect.
  • Fixed issues with civilian NPCs not properly fleeing or exiting the zone under certain circumstances.
