New Features For the Vega+ Portable Spectrum Console

New Features For the Vega+ Portable Spectrum Console

Remember that brand new firmware that we mentioned is coming to the Vega+ console? Well we're starting to see some of the details of what that will entail. After a hugely successful Indiegogo campaign, which obliterated the funding target, Retro Computers Inc. are trying to use that extra money to make the console even better.

The device hardware has been finalised, but the software is in advanced development at the moment. There is a much improved virtual keyboard being added, making input easier for game like interactive fiction which rely heavily on text input. Other significant new features and improvements include the ability for users to store a video of their game play and download it to the micro-SD card from where it can be sent to friends. The screen image on the Vega+ is also significantly brighter than on the company's original Vega product, and games now load much faster than on the original plug-and-play console.

Dr David Levy, Chairman of Retro Computers Ltd, says: "While developing our own software to supersede that of the original Vega product, we have taken a "clean sheet" approach and are introducing several new features prompted by user feedback and product reviews of the Vega. We feel very confident that our new software will be even better received by consumers. We will be announcing more new features from time to time between now and when we launch the Vega+."-
