Nintendo NX to Launch in 2017, New Zelda Pushed Back to be Launch Title

Nintendo released their end of year financial results recently, and in a move that has distracted everyone from yet another year of poor sales, they made some rather important announcements about the future. With sales down every year since 2012, it was time for the big N to do something to turn that around. They're hoping that the NX, their next console will do just that and as such, they have announced that it will be coming in March 2017.

This downside of this is that we will have to wait a little longer for The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild than we had hoped. Initially, the release was planned for 2015 but that was later pushed back to 2016. Instead, the title will now be coming as a launch title for the NX in 2017. In a move not entirely unlike the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess's launch, the new entry in the Zelda franchise will be released simultaneously on the Wii U and the NX. .

We will be able to see more of the game at the upcoming E3 conference in June, where Nintendo will be showing off the game in a playable for for the very first time. They are keen to focus attention on the title, and have stated that "it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion". The NX itself will not be making an appearance, and will instead be unveiled later this year. The version of the game on the floor at E3 will instead be the Wii U version. We will have all the news from the conference as it happens in June so remember to keep your eyes fixed here on GameGrin for all the latest.
