PlayStation Now Available in Open Beta
Sony have finally launched their game-streaming service in Open Beta for the UK. Previously only available for US gamers or select few in the UK closed beta. The open beta allows gamers to stream PlayStation 3 titles on their PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and selected Sony Bravia TV's and blu-ray players.
There is already a wide variety of games available at launch including some big named titles: The Last of Us, Uncharted series, Bioshock Infinite, God of War 3 and more.
Now, before you jump and start streaming, just keep in mind that you'll need a decent internet connection (Sony recommended 5mbps min). Also, be aware it is still a beta or performance may not be entirely optimal, but with any service it'll get better with time.
Now for the catch, for those who didn't know, the entire service is rental based. Prices start from £2.99 for a 2-days of game time and upto £7.99 for 30-days. Those are some steep prices, especially for available titles like Saints Row 2 or InFAMOUS.
The PlayStation Now service offered for Plus members would be far better. Perhaps have a Now title included with the monthly Plus games; that would be even better or just make a monthly subscription, none of this 2-day/30-day rental service. For now though, it's out for all to try.
