Project CARS Struggling on Wii U

Project CARS Struggling on Wii U

While many of us are enjoying the release of Project CARS for PC, PlayStation 4 and PC. Well, maybe not all of us. There are those out there with Wii U's awaiting the arrival of their version of the game. Well, unfortunately looks like you'll be waiting a lot longer.

As explained by Slightly Mad Studios Head Ian Bell, the team are struggling to get the Wii U port running at an acceptable performance. According to the dev team, the game is currently running at around "23 FPS" at 720P resolution. While they can try and push for 30FPS, this would result in a reduction in graphics quality to get the performance.

Project Cars12Ian Bell did point out that he and team have hopes that Nintendo's rumoured NX console, might just be the answer to their problems and in Ian's words "Our work might just be the best thing that ever hit that new console in the driving sim genre.." Although, with no knowledge of what Nintendo plans, they'll just have to make the cut backs to get it released on the Wii U.

No release date has been confirmed for the Wii U release. Project CARS is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One now. Check out why some of us aren't enjoying the racing sim by reading our review here.

As far as I know, there's a review for this game on the Xbox One version, which apparently is indeed unplayable. Other than that, I had heard great things about the PS4 and PC version.

I've not played it myself. Although, our reviewer didn't enjoy the Xbox One release due to performance issues. Not heard complaints on gameplay.

"You know that console Nintendo won't even announce until 2016? Our game would probably be AMAZING on it. Fuck the also-unannounced Mario Kart NX."
