Release Date Announced for The Last of Us Remastered
Naughty Dog's cinematic gaming masterpiece The Last of Us will be re-released for the PlayStation 4 as The Last of Us Remastered on June 20, according to several major US retailers.
Originally hinted at back in March when a Spanish retailer listed the game for pre-order under the name The Last of Us: Complete Edition, Sony confirmed plans to port the award-winning title over to PlayStation 4 last week. After winning an astonishing sixty-six awards during the 2013 season, including Game of the Year at Game Developer's Conference (GDC), it's unsurprising that Sony and Naughty Dog are looking to capitalise further on the game's success.
The Last of Us Remastered will include native 1080p models and textures, which is growing to be a standard for big-name PlayStation 4 ports, the Left Behind DLC and two multiplayer map packs: Abandoned Territories and the yet to be released Reclaimed Territories. The Remastered edition will also include commentary on all of the game's cut screens by Naughty Dog and voice actors Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie).
Sony has yet to officially confirm the June 20 release date for North America, and so far there is no official word on release dates for other regions.
