Watch_Dogs Will Have UPlay

The much derided anti-piracy tool prefered by Ubisoft - Uplay - will be required for people downloading the title over Steam. This likely means it will be bundled in with the console versions as well, requiring your console to be online for you to play the game.

For those who haven't played a recent Ubisoft game (how?), Uplay has come under fire for several reasons, not least the sometimes-flaky connectivity. Some BT Infinity users were unable to play Ubisoft games as it Uplay was actively blocked by the ISP, not too long ago. It is supposed to stop people downloading Ubisoft games from illegal websites, but usually winds up only causing grief for people who actually purchase them.

Watch_Dogs is released 27th May across all platforms. So expect the internet to be full of 'Cannot connect to Uplay' forum posts come 28th May.
