Daily Espada Review

Daily Espada Review

Daily Espada is one of the most fun and exciting arcade and platform games that I have managed to see in the past few years. For me, the thing that makes this game so exciting is the action-packed gameplay, but at the same time the aesthetics are truly impressive, because they manage to bring in something unique and plain extraordinary to the whole.
The game’s story is nice and immersive, but at the end of the day what matters the most is how cohesive the entire gameplay really is, and how responsive the controls are. You do feel like you are actually in control of the characters that can be seen on the screen, and this does come with interesting ideas like never before.

You play a man, drawn into Brazil’s weirdest game show, fighting against mythological beasts in a 2D platforming setting. Moreover, the game does have its own mythology, something that’s truly interesting on its own, although there are moments in which you will just focus on killing rather than the story. While I played this, I felt that I was playing Devil May Cry in 2D, and this says a lot about the intensity of the game! Although the combat is not quite as complex, it has similar weapons and is usually against big monsters.

At first the game tends to be a little hard to understand, mainly because there are so many mechanics that you need to get the hang of. Thankfully, the title does include an excellent tutorial system that gets you quickly up to speed and provides you with plenty of cool ideas to play around with.

I do feel that the boss battles could be even more refined, but they are great as a whole and offer a distinct way to battle each enemy which is a major plus for me.
The game is quite long, and includes plenty of content to play it for hours and hours. The aesthetics include plenty of effects - pulsing lights and stuff like that, so there are plenty of effects that you will appreciate for sure. The level of attention to detail is remarkable, and one of the main appealing points of the game.

If you are a fan of action games, Daily Espada is a great addition to your Steam library, however you do need to take into account that it can be a niche title because of its focus on Brazilian mythology. If that is not a problem for you and you want a game that has a stellar platforming element as well as intense battles that include both swords and pistols, then Daily Espada is an amazing game for you.

I have to say that once you venture into Daily Espada you will keep coming back to the game. The title does include a multitude of levels, it’s visually impressive since it does come with its own esthetics, and at the end of the day it’s one of those experiences that allows you to dive deep into Brazilian mythology. It’s an exciting game and one that manages to bring amazing potential that you can really appreciate.
