Psycho Starship Rampage Review

Psycho Starship Rampage Review

I always find the idea of a shoot ’em up to be the perfect fit for me, because what can be better than taking the role of a hero, and going through hundreds of enemies as well as amazing boss battles like never seen before? Still, many times games in this genre tend to fail when it comes to innovation, but not Psycho Starship Rampage. This title not only manages to have satisfying gameplay, but it also has a wide range of cool mechanics just waiting to be explored as well.

What I enjoyed the most is the ability to customize your own ship. As you play through the game you will be able to select a level from the map and there you can find a multitude of challenges. What you need to do is to build up your ship by accumulating scrap from the levels and then make it better and better by adding a wide range of weapons and perks to it.

The game allows you to completely modify the ship you are using and this does bring to the front numerous fun, enjoyable tactics that you can check out. Combine that with the fact that you can easily modify the experience as you see fit then you will see how amazing Psycho Starship Rampage really manages to get.

They also integrated a roguelike level design and a multitude of weapons that you can use. When it comes to shooting on its own, this is very satisfying and you will always find yourself trying to engage as many enemies as possible in order to gain more scrap.

Boss battles are obviously some of the best that the game has to offer, and you have a whole bunch of unique ideas as well as mechanics that you can take into account. While the game doesn’t hold your hand and the boss battles are fierce most of the time, they did integrate a good tutorial for those that seem lost at the beginning of the game.

Strategic appeal is what this title is all about. You do get a whole bunch of cool ideas and at the same time you will find yourself engaging with plenty of enjoyable mechanics along the way. The game is also very nice to play through, since it does integrate a lot of replay value and a ton of tactics that you can experience as you see fit.

Of course, aside from that, Psycho Starship Rampage also manages to provide you with that sense of accomplishment, because you do see your ship getting better and better!
The graphics are very good, and so is the music. Sounds on their own are forgettable, but the music here is action-packed most of the time, so this does add quite a lot to the action as a whole.

If you truly like arcade-themed games and want some roguelike and ARPG elements in your shoot 'em up, then Psycho Starship Rampage is a very good choice. It’s surely a unique, nicely designed game and one that has managed to bring in a ton of new mechanics. Just give it a shot if you like this type of game, I guarantee that you will love it.
