A Buyer's Guide to the Steam Summer Sale - Day One

So, the Steam Summer Sale has hit and it’s full of delicious gamey goodness. But which ones are worth buying? We offer up our humble opinions on the best of the bunch, every day, as well as whether you can find the games at a better price elsewhere.

Dead Rising 3 is a big one on this list, with a great pre-order price. However, you can get it from GreenManGaming and use this code “A5D6OC-SSP45E-FYUBTA” to receive 20% off, bringing it to £28.80, which is cheaper, but only just.

Democracy 3 is a great game if you’re into micro-management. We gave it a good review, which you can read here, and for £6.45 it’s definitely worth the money. We can’t find it cheaper anywhere else.

Don’t Starve is a fantastic game (you can read our rave review here) that everyone should own! It’s one of those time sinkers that you might lose your life to, but we think it’s worth it. And under £3.00, it’s a no brainer. If you don’t have this, buy it now.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is one of the best strategy games out there, and we gave it a whopping 9.5/10! You can read the full review on our old site here. It is definitely worth buying if you don’t have it, especially for £3.74, which is the best price we can find online.

For RPG fans, The Witcher games are a must-have. You can get both the games that are currently out for under £5, which is not only a great deal, but will get you into the franchise just before The Witcher 3, which is promising to be one of the most exciting games of next year (just watch this if you’re not sure).

Those are our recommendations for today! If you can find any of the games on sale cheaper elsewhere please let us know in the comments and we’ll update the article.
