A Love Letter to All Gamer Mothers
(Random images of children's games were used to split the article!)
To all of the gamer mothers out there in the world, this one's for you. We'd like to dedicate this article to Alana Dunitz, the most creative mother I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with; Emsey P. Walker, the sweetest mother; and the ever hard-working Anna Duncan. You three have been the inspiration for this article; there are no words to describe the undying admiration and respect that we have for you.
As a daughter to a gamer mother, I've had the pleasure of growing up watching someone interact with me and introduce me to games, and, thanks to her, I am a gamer. If it were not for her, chances are I'd be fit and playing sports, but I digress.
I have undying respect for gamer mothers, as I know how hard-working they are. If it were not for mothers introducing their offspring (and as someone who doesn’t like children much, I mean this in a derogatory form) to games, we might not have the pleasure to experience half of the games that we do nowadays. The dedication of a mother to gaming is unparalleled as they must take care of their kids along with spending their time on this very time-consuming hobby. Dads do too, of course, but it's not your month!

Pajama Sam wants to wish all mothers a happy Mother's Day too!
I know how hard mothers try to include their families in their hobby, and I know how often they sacrifice significant chunks of their life for their kids; you needn't look further than to whom this article is dedicated to. As my wife and I looked for articles to write in honour of Mother's Day, we found that they are often unrepresented in gaming; that broke our hearts. Not only are women often underrepresented in general, but mothers are even less so; as a result, all of the articles posted throughout today are dedicated to every single current and future gamer mother.
Thank you for your patience with kids, for sharing your hobby with them, and thank you for continuing to be the pillar of parenthood. Without your influence, your caringness, and kindness, who knows where our industry would be today? And, although you are often overlooked in gaming, know that we hold you close to our hearts. As far as we're concerned, you all are the true heroes in gaming; you'll always be the gaming industry's greatest martyr.
Nox
Nox chiming in. When my wife and I first started thinking of this article idea we began gushing because, despite the fact that we’ve known these three mothers for less than half a year, we’ve seen glimpses here and there of their lives as parents and often find ourselves celebrating what they do. That is when we realised we can bring light to some of these events!

And Putt-Putt too!
Beginning with Alana. Watching the handcrafted and beautifully creative things you do for your children is inspiring. From Yoshi-themed murals to fun little games for them to do on their birthdays and other important occasions: Thank you for being there with them and making their lives that much more magical.
Onto Emsey, who, upon hearing about Kirby’s latest and newest 3D game, asked if she could run and tell her son about it before he fell asleep; it made us feel warm the amount of excitement and love in your attitude as you swiftly went to share the good news after preordering it. The amount of excitement you held is contagious, and we can’t help but see you and your kids side by side on a couch binge-playing Kirby.
And last but never least, Anna. The first time you spoke to me we had a bit of a conversation which included how you play Dead by Daylight for your children and how often they ask to watch you. You even mentioned that you were getting over the game and started to explore others but you wouldn’t leave because your kids love it so much. It’s heartwarming the amount of effort you put in to see them happy.
You three are prime examples of parents, and we could only hope the parents of the world put half the effort in for their kids. We want you to know that we see you and all that you do, the little gestures of love you put into their daily lives. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your GameGrin family, and truly, you deserve the best.
Happy Mother’s Day, we love you.
