Esports Betting Tendencies: What to Expect in the Coming Years

It’s almost impossible to compare the videogames from the 80s with those from the 90s, as much as the games from the 2000s – that started to be called esports in the 21st century, with the games from the previous decade.

A lot of things enjoyed a boost of revamp after revamp, if not a revolution, in the 21st century. But one of the things that was absolutely revolutionised was the entertainment.
Each new generation can barely believe that the previous one could manage to have fun with the devices that were available back in their times.

Analogic games became digital games, and now AI-enhanced and ML-enhanced games will probably make everything that we know these days pretty much hard to compare with the stuff that is about to come.

But how can we avoid this almost stereotypical thinking of the current zeitgeist? Can we predict anything clear through the cloudy scenario of certain surprises? Some stuff, however, has changed. Cryptocurrencies came to stay, and many enjoy just betting on live events featuring esports athletes with Cloudbet being a key resource for this, as they offer a host of different betting markets in the space. The competition is so intense, and it combines the best of two trending things: checking the performances of the best guys out there in a more passive way, while exploring the crypto world and making the most from your knowledge of esports. But what about the rest? Will the flops of the past eventually trend?

VR and AR: Finally Some Improvements?

The flop of Google Glass was a great example of how technology sometimes comes a bit too early to enjoy the best opportunities and make the most of it’s potential. The hype – and the prices – around Google Glass did not indicate that it would have the same fate of, let’s say, Google+.

Will games become truly immersive? Some barriers like the semiconductors shortage during the pandemic may have slowed down the popularisation of 4k screens for example, let alone any potential upcoming product in line with what Google Glass once tried to be.
Computational power seems to be escalating again. AI is making a lot of progress, but will we have truly immersive 3d games at the competitive, professional level?

Regardless of graphic improvements, if we analyse the professional scenario of esports, things look pretty much like, let’s say, 2003: desktops and videogame consoles. Ok, the arenas may have grown and the revenue derived from streaming sources are allowing a lot more people to dedicate full time to this kind of career, but the essential ‘design’ of the hardware… is the same as 20 years ago.

When will we see professional streamers living fierce battles in a truly 3D scenario? What about enjoying these streaming options live, in 3D, as if we were in the middle of the battlefield, not like a football game on TV?

Summary: The esports Tendencies and The Upcoming Tech

Speculation is the norm these days. Google’s CEO just recently mentioned how they’re not quite sure how Google Bard learned Bengali using just a few prompts related to that language. That’s correct. Google is not sure about the capabilities of their own AI toy (or tool). So how could we speculate right now?

Perhaps the safest bet right now is to expect the unexpected as they say, no matter how cliché it may sound at this point when talking about technology, esports and ‘the modern world’.
