GC Tracks That Should be in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC

GC Tracks That Should be in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC

Rumours were going around about a new Mario Kart game for the Nintendo Switch, but instead of the game announcement people expected, Nintendo announced new DLC packs for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe called the Booster Course Pass that will have tracks coming out in waves releasing during 2022 and 2023, with the first two cups coming 18th March 2022.

Details for the first wave have already been released and includes tracks from various previous games in the series, with even tracks from the mobile Mario Kart Tour title making an appearance. Knowing this, I thought I would go and play all the games in the series and see what tracks we haven't seen in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe yet that may appear in these waves.

Since there are so many games and tracks, I've made a list of all the courses that haven't made it onto the Switch yet, then I went and tested them all out to find the best ones. I will list each game separately and choose the top five I feel should be in this new DLC.

The first title I looked at for this list was Mario Kart: Double Dash on the GameCube. Double Dash is one of my favourite titles in the series because you get to select two characters from an expansive roster along with a kart; coming up with crazy power-ups is great unless someone takes Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Your races will be full of huge bananas that explode into smaller ones upon impact, and on tracks like Baby Park, this is incredibly frustrating!

So these are the five GameCube tracks that I feel should be included in the waves.

Luigi Circuit

Luigi has been left out once again, his track never made it onto the Switch. This track is a ton of fun with a lot of boosts close to the goal, hazards like chain chomps, huge piranha plants trying to eat you, and one lane, two-way traffic; you can't relax at all. Especially if you are playing against someone who decides to cause chaos to the racers in front of them, these two-way sections can be disastrous!

Mushroom Bridge

This course has everything you would want in a track: traffic, tunnels, and a secret dirt path through the grass to take you to the top railing of the bridge where you will undoubtedly fall plunging into the water!

Waluigi Stadium

Waluigi, like his alter-self Luigi, has always been in the shadow of his brother. Wario Stadium was included in the original game but they neglected to add in Waluigi's track. It's a little similar to his brother's course but I think it stands on its own with multiple rings of fireballs, fire sticks that one would see in Bowser's Castle, tight turns, mud, and lots of ramps. This track is a ton of fun!

Daisy Cruiser

Let's go racing on a cruise ship! Sounds a little weird but you race above and below the deck with unique hazards like sliding tables, and chairs trying to get in your way in the dining room. This course is very different from the ones you would usually race on and adds more variety to the list.

Mushroom City

I have always loved courses in Mario Kart that have traffic that isn't just your opponents. There's nothing like the thrill of driving into oncoming traffic and avoiding getting hit, or if you are a little evil like me, pushing a rival into it. This track has you racing around the city at night with multiple streets that you can take to complete your lap. There is no one right way, so you are free to explore and find the route that you find fastest. There are tons of opportunities for drifting, and mushroom cars that you can crash into that will shoot out speed boost power-ups.

These were just five of the tracks I feel would make good additions to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game. Were there any tracks I listed that you disagree with or ones from Double Dash you felt that I should have included on this list? Be sure to let me know in the comments!
