The Master of All Arts: Best WoW The Burning Crusade Professions

What is the best profession to pick for your class in both PvP and PvE? Here we will talk about World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic’s (TBC) best professions to pick for the classes for battlegrounds, arenas, dungeons, raids, and leveling.

Blizzard has modified the professions in TBC. They've become a lot better at achieving their goal of being distinctive, valuable, and viable. Specific skill level profession trainers are no longer dispersed over Azeroth. There is now a single trainer who will train you up to 300 skill level before sending you to Outlands for 375. There are no straight requirements of a certain profession to get into a raid, a premade battleground, or arena.

Crafting Professions

Jewelcrafting

Jewelcrafting is a brand-new profession introduced in TBC. Prospecting and obtaining resources need a lot of ore, therefore it's generally coupled with Mining. It's a wonderful pick for all classes because it has a good gold making potential from selling gems that boost stats. Jewelry, such as rings, amulets, and trinkets, can also be made.

There are gems that are only available for jewelcrafters. They are a slightly enhanced version of the regular ones which you can get from various reputations. There’s a downside to that, you can use a JC version of a gem one per set. Not for gear item.

Profession is beneficial for PvP since it gives Rogues and Druids access to a Panther trinket that grants better stealth detection. And it can be upgraded in the future.

Enchanting

One of the WoW professions TBC that can enhance pieces of gear with stats and effects. Usually paired with tailoring because cloth items can be turned into enchanting mats. Enchanting is a good fit for any class, and it's highly profitable.

You will be drowning in riches after you get specific ench recipes, such as Mongoose and Sunfire, which are in great demand. You can also enchant your gear, your guild’s gear, as well as sell the enchants.

Enchanting is also notable for its ring enchants, which are only available to those who have learnt the profession. It's a little benefit, and it shouldn't be your primary motivation for leveling this profession.

Alchemy

Alchemy is yet another lucrative job. Consumables have been redesigned by Blizzard. Battle Elixirs and Guardian Elixirs are two types of consumables in TBC.You can only have one effect each at a time. Flasks — act as both Guardian and Battle Elixirs and they cannot be removed upon death.

You have a slight possibility of learning a recipe through creating consumables, which are valued on the Auction House. Alchemists can create Cauldrons of a certain type of elixir.
To make a Cauldron, you'll need a discovery proc (craft a certain elixir until the cauldron recipe drops). It functions similarly to a Soul Well, granting elixir to a party or raid member.

A strong choice for gold making. You can sell consumables, transform materials (like Primal Might), and make trinkets (that only alchemists may utilize). Some individuals just level Alchemy for the sake of gold and don't have it on their main character for raiding.

Blacksmithing

Often used by Enhancement Shamans, Warriors, Paladins, and Rogues. You can craft mail and plate gear, and specialize in crafting certain weapons or armor. This profession can heavily impact your character’s performance by creating powerful weapons.

Blacksmiths can specialize in two ways:

  • Armorsmithing
  • Weaponsmithing
    • Swordsmith
    • Hammersmith
    • Axesmith

Weaponsmithing is absolutely great. As a warrior, you can choose a certain type of weapon and enhance it even more with your talent points. Those specializations have 3 tier weapon progressions. Specializations are required to equip the crafted weapon.

For example, Swordsmith will go for the Lionheart Executioner weapon, which allows you to take advantage of a warrior Sword spec. Not the best for gold making, as the value of your items will depend on rare recipes.

Tailoring

Paired with enchanting. A top profession of choice for all cloth-wearers (Priest, Warlock, Mage). This profession allows you to specialize in only one type of cloth (Primal Mooncloth, Shadowcloth, Spellcloth) and create according sets fit for a particular class.

All three types of cloth will be sought-after, as they have a crafting cooldown. You can also craft a net which is helpful in PvE, but can't be used in Arena. As a money making option, you can create 20 slot bags, and 28 slot bags for warlock’s Soul Shards.

Leatherworking

Useful for druids, shamans, hunters and rogues. Can create armor that has three tiers like Blacksmith’s weapons.

Since the creation of Drums of Battle, which could only be used by LWs, this profession used to be a raid requirement. Now that Blizzard has nerfed the functionality, each raid only requires one Leatherworker. When one person plays the drums, the entire raid benefits. Not the best for gold farming.

Engineering

Most of the items were disabled from the arena like Rocket Boots and other items. This diminishes the Engineering value, yet it is still a go-to profession for PvP.
Best class for engineering WoW is Hunter. Engineers can craft grenades, sapper and dynamite. Make goggles that upgrade stealth detection.
