Xbox Live - No More Family Subscription

As of 27th August, Microsoft are converting all Gold Family Subscription Packs into individual accounts. The change is to accomodate for how Xbox Live will work once the Xbox One gets here.

This means that family members will now have to pay for their subscriptions individually, but Microsoft have stated that everyone will have the same amount of subcription time left that was in the family sub, plus an extra 3 months to sweeten the deal.

A couple of features will be lost with this update: Microsoft Points allowances and activity monitoring reports. However, parental controls will still be available so parents can decide what and when they want their children to play.

In place of the family sub will be the "Home Gold" feature which allows one Gold member to share "the best benefits of Xbox Live Gold" and perks with any account created on the same console.

There is a more infomation available on the Xbox Wire, including a FAQ page for the Gold Family Pack conversion.
