Nintendo are keeping up their tradition of releasing a Direct presentation in September, with a new 40 minute Direct dropping tomorrow.
There isn’t much information from Nintendo themselves regarding the Direct, outside of the length of the presentation and the fact that it will be primarily focussing on 2019 titles, such as Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Pokémon Sword & Pokemon Shield. It should be noted that this doesn’t necessarily mean that the entire Direct will be spent on 2019 games, and that they’ll just be getting the main spotlight.
Although there’s not much information from Nintendo, there have been a few leaks that have cropped up for games we may see in the Direct. Recently, a patent was found by a reddit user for an SNES styled controller coming to Switch. Is it possible that SNES games will be revealed for the Nintendo Online service during the Direct? It seems like a safe bet given the continuous backlash towards the service. Also, an Amazon listing for an Overwatch Switch case was recently found, suggesting that the popular multiplayer shooter will be coming to the console. Lastly, an SNK trademark was found on the webpage for the fourth Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter, meaning that the next DLC will likely be a character originating from that company. A few leakers have been pointing towards Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury: King of Fighters specifically.
The Nintendo Direct will be airing at 3pm Pacific Time and 6pm Eastern Time, or 11pm for folks in the UK.
