A Re-Release of the Commodore VIC-20 to Hit Store Shelves

The Commodore VIC-20, one of earliest home computers and gaming systems, is being re-released later this year with all the bells and whistles of modern hardware. Named THEVIC20, this licensed, full-sized reimagining includes a fully-functioning keyboard, four USB ports, HDMI connectivity and 64 pre-loaded games from the VIC-20 and Commodore 64 libraries (with the ability to load more files and games via USB). Check out the reveal trailer above and get ready to scour your local stores when it releases October 2020 for £109.99.

In addition to modern port compatibility (USB/HDMI), the re-released console is to be updated with selectable refresh rates (50hz/60hz), save-state functionality, pixel filter options and a micro USB-powered joystick. It was one of the era's best-selling computers, and the very first to sell over a million units. Soon, almost 40 years after its release, it'll be back on store shelves and better than ever.
