A Security Vulnerability Has Been Spotted in Unity: Make Sure to Update Games!
Recently, various titles that have been built on Unity received a message from the developers urging players to update their games as soon as possible, as there has been a vulnerability spotted.
Whilst there hasn't seemed to be any impact on users yet, both the team behind Unity and numerous developers are working together to make their apps safe by taking necessary steps. Players, on the other hand, are encouraged to update their games to the latest patch to be safe!
In Unity's page, there's a summary that explains that applications that were built using the version of Unity Editor might be vulnerable to unsafe file loading or local file inclusion attacks. Depending on the operating system, this could mean that a local code could be executed, which will allow it to extract confidential information from the user currently using the application.
Again, while there's been no evidence of exploitation or impact on users, the company has provided developers with all the necessary fixes, and players should update the games to their latest patch.
