Animal Crossing: New Horizons Coming to Switch 2 and A New Update for ALL Players
Nintendo has announced that there will be a massive update coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. While I've added the trailer which will have much more detailed information, here's a few things that you can look forward to with Animal Crossing: New Horizons' launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Along with the chance to either purchase the game on Switch 2 or get an Upgrade Pass for your game, there will be a few features that will be exclusive to users of said system. These include Game Chat, a Megaphone to call your villagers, and up to 12 players visiting your island at a time. But, this isn't the biggest news.
You see, alongside this for all users, whether you use either Switch consoles, there will be a new update launching on the same day. This will be completely free for all players, and will include several huge additions.
For one thing, Resetti will have a job once more. Using Resetti, you can reset sections of your island, clearing them up, and all items will be placed securely in storage. Storage will also be increased to a maximum of 9000 items, and there will be a new Hotel added to your Island. This Hotel will be on your Pier, and will be run by Kapp'n and his family. Here, there will be new items, and you can decorate your guest's rooms, a lot like the Happy Home Paradise DLC. You can also send Kapp'n out to deliver DIY items for tickets which can be then used to get new items.
Retro Nintendo consoles will also be added, and Nintendo Switch Online members will be able to play some of these games on the consoles. Along with a Legend of Zelda and Splatoon Amiibo collaboration, there will also be one with LEGO. Furthermore, you can design up to three different Dream Islands exactly as you like when you go to sleep. Some of these islands can also be designed with your friends.
With that in mind, there'll be a lot of features to look forward to on 15th January 2026.
