It's almost Christmas (or, rather, Toy Day) for all the cheery villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As such, it's time for a new update, packed with events, occasions and things to see. So, what's in New Horizons' free Winter Update?
On Turkey Day *ahem* Thanksgiving *ahem*, players can help expert chef Franklin prepare a hearty feast in their village's main plaza. He might even have a surprise stowed away for the players who do devote some time to helping him in his culinary endeavours.
Throughout the month of December, in the run-up to Toy Day on the 24th, players' villages will become gradually more festive, full of ornaments and decorations. Festive blueprints can even be shaken loose from trees for players to take some decoration into their own hands.
Not satisfied with decorations? Luckily for you, Nook's Cranny and the Able Sisters Shop will also be selling a range of unique festive items and outfits (check back each day for new stock).
Finally, on Toy Day itself, players can help gift-giver extraordinaire Jingle (think Santa if he were a reindeer) deliver presents... with a present up for grabs for players themselves too!
New Hairstyles and Emotes
New reactions and hairstyles will be available to buy with Nook Miles at the Nook Stop terminal.
From 1,600 to 2,400, residents' maximum inventories will see a significant boost—perfect for storing all of those festive goods and presents.
Save Data Transfer System
Players will now be able to transfer their New Horizons save data to another system with the 'Island Transfer Tool' app in Nintendo eShop.
New Year Seasonal Items
From the 26th - 31st December, even more seasonal items will be available from the Nook Stop terminal to help players welcome in the new year!
Finally, Nintendo has confirmed that the next free update is due in January. Expect details soon!
The Winter update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for free. It should download automatically or when you next launch the game.
