Arise: A Simple Story is out now

Techland Publishing today announced that Arise: A Simple Story is now available as a digital download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Epic Games Store. A beautiful and deeply moving platform adventure game, Arise is Barcelona-based developer Piccolo Studio’s first title, and if the launch trailer is anything to go by, they've achieved their goal of "creating handcrafted video games."

Arise invites players to take the first step on a journey into the afterlife. The game is a heartfelt tale of an old man’s life, interwoven with love and loss, through the symbolic landscapes of his memories and a unique traversal mechanic that allows players to manipulate time in single player or light cooperative play. As each chapter represents a pivotal moment from the protagonist’s past, Arise’s touching love story will take the old man — and the players themselves — on an impassioned emotional rollercoaster of empowering highs and visceral lows.
