Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Introduces New Perspective in Free Update Alongside More Content
You'd be forgiven for thinking that Ubisoft was done with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as the 2023 title (launched a few months later on Steam in 2024) is what many might consider quite old at this point. The November 2024 DLC launch Secrets of the Spires worked as an expansion to the main game and brought a new area, new enemies, and more, and the latest free launch brings a bit more for players.
The latest update brings two of the most highly requested features by the community to the game: the third-person mode so you can experience it through a different perspective (preferred by many) and a New Game + mode. Here's what you need to know about the two additions:
Massive Entertainment reworked animations, controls, audio, and camera systems to fit the new perspective, ensuring that it doesn't feel out of place. The third-person perspective mode will be able to be changed at the push of a button, giving you the opportunity to feel more immersed in a Na'vi character.
The NG+ mode, instead, will allow you to re-experience the narrative while keeping your inventory and skills. However, it deviates from usual mechanics like these by introducing a brand-new skill tree and even more powerful gear, perfectly fit to fight against the tougher foes that you'll face along the way.
The third-person update and New Game+ modes are available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect — check out the trailer above!
