Batman: Return to Arkham Makes a Return

Remember that Batman Arkham remaster? The one that got announced then delayed without new release date because of how terrible it looked? Well, it's back and this time, it's actually shaping up to be a worthwhile remaster.

Above is the newly released side-by-side comparison of the upcoming remaster, which now has an official release date of the 21st of October 2016.

Being handled by Virtuos, their previous efforts when the game was first revealed didn't go down well and it very much looked like a cash-grab. Fortunately, Warner Bros. made the right call and decided to the delay the title to actually allow Virtuos to do some improvements.

As you can see above, which compares the PS3 and PS4 versions, we can clearly see vastly improved textures, environments, lighting as well as some additional shaders and effects curtsey of the advanced Unreal Engine 4. Although the faces still look like they've lost a bit of detail it's still a massive improvement.

This is for both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City as well as all their respected released DLC. Still, no Arkham Origins to make it the complete Arkham package, but nonetheless, it all boils down to whether the people want this remastered collection and at £39.99 it's a tough sell. Especially when you consider, this month we're getting the BioShock collection which contains all three games and their DLC for the same price.
