Blizzard Release New Warcraft III Patch

A couple of days ago, we reported on Blizzard's new patch for Diablo II. It was clear from the tone of their post and the unveiled job vacancy that they company had open, that the software giant are keen to revive their classic IPs, well that's exactly what they seem to be doing with the release of another patch for a much loved franchise. 

This time, it's the turn of the franchise that really cemented their success, Warcraft. The third game in the series, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, is the game getting a modern hardware patch. This won't affect the look and feel of the game, simply eliminate any issues running it on modern hardware. There will be some balance changes and a new map pool to come, but these aren't in this patch, which is merely a compatibility update.

On a post on their official forums, a Blizzard representative stated:

"Today we will be deploying 1.27a for Warcraft III. As with Diablo II, this patch focuses on modern system compatibility. It’s exciting to bring some additional support to another core Blizzard game, and we thank you for your encouragement and patience as we continue working behind the scenes on these types of updates.

Please be aware that while we are working on a balance change and new map pool, that work is still in progress and is not part of this patch. We’ll have further details on that as development progresses."
