Bloodroots is a Western Without Six-Shooters

Paper Cult is has caught players' eyes with its upcoming Western action-fighter, Bloodroots, releasing on PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on 28th February. Check out the latest release date trailer above to get a feel for the game's style and frantic rhythm.

Players will join Mr. Wolf, a man at the wrong end of a betrayal and left for dead in the hostile American West, on his journey for revenge. In lieu of traditional Western weaponry, Mr. Wolf will use his wits and anything to hand in dispatching the countless foes in his way: ladders, barrels, wagon wheels, boots and even carrots are deadly weapons when wielded by Mr. Wolf.

With buttery smooth action, Bloodroots' fast-paced improvisational combat looks irresistibly appealing and its art-style matches the tongue-in-cheek tone to a tee. It already looks to have the makings of an indie smash-hit, and with the announcement of Nick Suttner (Guacamelee 2; Celeste) joining in the game's writing efforts, it's hard not to get excited.

Bloodroots releases 28th February on PC (via Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
