Breath of the Wild Getting An Expansion Pass
Nintendo embraced the idea of DLC during their later Wii U releases, especially in Mario Kart 8, Splatoon and Hyrule Warriors. So it's not too surprising to see them continue that programme with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
They announced an Expansion Pass for the title that consists of two major content packs, one due in Summer 2017 and one due in Winter 2017.
The first, DLC Pack 1, will consist of a new Cave of Trials challenge, the addition of a hard mode and an additional map feature. Pack 2 will include original story content with a new dungeon and additional challenges.
Alongside the DLC Packs themselves you also unlock some bonus Treasure Chests in the Great Plateau area that will contain useful items including a shirt with a Nintendo Switch logo for some reason.
The Expansion Pass for Breath of the Wild will be available for purchase for both Wii U and Switch versions of the game on the 3rd March for £17.99/€19.99/$19.99. The bonus chests unlock immediately in-game with the extra content accessible as it releases throughout the year.
