Candy Crush Developer Taking Devs to GDC

Candy Crush Developer Taking Devs to GDC

Earlier this year, King released their game development engine Defold into the wild for free. The aim was to encourage budding developers and give them a hand with getting their ideas out on iOS, Android or HTML5. The Candy Crush and Bubble Witch Saga developers are now taking that a step further with a competition aimed at developers using their engine.

Ahead of next year's Game Developers Conference (GDC) in California, the Defold team are running a competition to see who has created the best game using the engine. Those who have a game to show can submit it on the competition website, and the best game, as judged by King, will be the winner.

For the winner, the Defold team at King is offering a grand prize of expo passes, travel, accommodation, and a booth where they can personally showcase their game at GDC in March 2017. Entries close on the 22nd of January so you've got a couple of months to get your game polished and ready.
