Cooking Mama: Cookstar Trailer Leaked Online

Rumours had been circulating since mid-2019 about another Switch-centric entry to the Cooking Mama series, and now, thanks to a trailer released early by Dutch retailer Nedgame, we get our first substantial look at Cooking Mama: Cookstar for Nintendo Switch. 

After gaining attention online, Nedgame removed the trailer from its website. As history has made clear, however, there's no such thing as 'removing something from the internet' and copies were soon spread far and wide. Check out the trailer at the top of this page.

As far as the trailer shows, the franchise's basic premise seems to have stayed intact: the titular 'Mama' being controlled in a series of cooking-based minigames that make use of every input option afforded by the hardware.

However, merely cooking up breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes for personal satisfaction isn't enough in this modern age of social media: Mama has got herself an Instagram account, it seems. In addition to cooking up a cracking meal, additional credit can be earned by snapping the perfect shot for social media. 

Considering the fact that the trailer hasn't officially released yet, it's a surprise to see a release date of March 2020 listed in the trailer. Could this be a precursor to an imminent Nintendo Direct? While speculation does nobody any favours, it has been some time since our last big update from Nintendo.

As far as the trailer suggests, Cooking Mama: Cookstar releases on Nintendo Switch in March 2020. For official details, however, it's probably best to wait for an official Nintendo announcement.
