Dark Souls 3 Announced - New Direction Adopted

In the wake of the phenomenal success of Dark Souls 2, developer FROM SOFTWARE have announced an upcoming sequel to their flagship game.

Dark Souls 3, which has a release date of late 2015 will be taking a marked departure from previous games by adopting a free-to-play model. At a recent press conference an unnamed FROM SOFTWARE spokesperson claimed that due to its increasing popularity, Dark Souls is fast becoming a household name, gaining popularity with the casual market and 'mum gamers' previously pursued by Pop Cap.

As a result Dark Souls 3 will be available on tablets and as a Facebook game (Rift support not yet announced). The game will be free to access but 'souls' (used to level up and make in game purchases) must be acquired with real world money. There are also rumours of a 'god mode' being added in an attempt to make the notoriously hard series more accessible to younger children but these have been dismissed as 'ridiculous'.

Matt firmly believes that games will save the world. However, he'll never do the same as he always plays chaotic evil.
