Dark Souls 3 Leaked
According to the people over at The Know, Dark Souls 3 is real and is scheduled for release for PS4 and Xbox One in 2016; a PC release is said to be "negotiable."
The game will feature 10 playable classes, 45 new enemies (implying some enemies will be returning from previous installments) and 15 new bosses.
New enemies and bosses are to be expected, but Dark Souls 3 is supposedly making some big changes to boss battles and the asynchronous multiplayer.
A new feature called "Heat Up" is said to completely change bosses, although the factors required to instigate such changes and the changes themselves are unknown as of now.
In order to interact with other players, a "sacrifice ceremony" is required. This involves sacrificing bodies of slain enemies, although doing so will place a bounty on your head.
Sacrificing a body can also potentially summon an NPC or create a new bonfire but again, specific details are fairly scarce as of now.
Finally, Dark Souls 3 will introduce something known as "sword fighting arts" that give your character special abilities. "Rush In" is a sacrifice moves that allows you to dive into your opponent while "Circle" is a dodge move, allowing you to better evade your enemies.
This would be a first for the series. Melee combat in the Souls games has always involved light, heavy and two-handed attacks. Adding in special moves could significantly change the dynamic of fights.
Whether all the aforementioned changes are positive remains to be seen, but hopefully we'll get a more in-depth look next week at E3.
