Dear Villagers Hosts Third-party Steam Sale: Games Under 5 Hours

It's no secret that Steam Next Fest is in full motion already, with thousands of demos available to play (and some really big titles, too), but for those looking for a more traditional Steam sale, they're in luck! Publisher Dear Villagers has started the Games Under 5 Hours event, featuring all sorts of bite-sized titles for you to check out.

The premise is simple: sometimes, life tends to get in the way of videogaming, and tackling colossal behemoths is an impossible task. Whether we're talking harder titles or games with literal dozens upon hundreds of hours of content, it's sometimes not easy to slot in the time — or energy — to get through them.

To this end, Dear Villagers created the Games Under 5 Hours event to give titles with smaller runtimes the opportunity to shine. Here's what the Dear Villagers team shared as their Event Statement:

Why short games? Why now? Because sometimes what you need is a complete, unforgettable journey you can actually finish. From October 13–27, explore carefully crafted experiences where every moment matters. These are premium short adventures, including curated bundles, community favorites, and coming-soon titles that show how developers push creative boundaries within smaller scopes. For two weeks, we celebrate games that prove the shortest stories can often be the most powerful.

It's a noble mission, and one worth checking out. This is the perfect opportunity to find all sorts of titles with smaller runtimes, giving you the opportunity to try them over the weekend — here's the types of things you can expect from the event:

• Premium short titles and rising indie stars.
• Exclusive bundles branded for all sorts of genres and moods.
• Games coming soon that you can wishlist.
• Speedrun-friendly titles with perfect runtimes that won't demand the entire day just for one attempt.
