December 2019 State of Play Has Been Announced

Another one of Sony’s State of Play presentations has been announced for December, just a couple of days ahead of the impending Game Awards.

The announcement post on PlayStation.Blog states that “We’ve got around 20 minutes of new game reveals, release date announcements, new gameplay footage, PlayStation Worldwide Studios updates, and more. And it probably bears repeating: Don’t expect any updates related to our next-gen plans in this episode.”

There isn’t any official confirmation regarding the exact games that will be shown off during the presentation, but there are a few assumptions that can be made from some recent nuggets of information. Word on Sucker Punch’s upcoming title Ghost of Tsushima has been mostly quiet since its last showing during Sony’s E3 2018 conference, however the game’s YouTube playlist updated recently. This could be indicative of a new trailer for the game being in this presentation.

A few other titles have also leaked recently - Resident Evil 3 remake along with remasters for Bayonetta and Vanquish. Most assumed Resident Evil 3 remake would be unveiled at the upcoming Game Awards, however Game Awards host Geoff Keighley dispelled this notion during a recent AMA (ask me anything) over on Reddit, stating “There are no plans (never were) to do anything with Resident Evil 3 at the show.” The Bayonetta and Vanquish remasters are up in the air, and could feasibly have an announcement at either State of Play or the Game Awards, or any future event prior to their February release.

State of Play will air on 10th December 6:00am PT/9:00am ET and 2:00pm in the UK.
