Demo Version of Gran Turismo Sport Coming to Goodwood

With Gran Turismo Sport, the latest game in the famous series, coming on the 18th of November, Sony are releasing a demo. The highly anticipated racer will be debuted in a playable form at the Goodwood Festival of Speed between the 23rd and 26th of June.

The game will be available exclusively at the Volkswagen stand during the festival. Featuring the Brands Hatch track and a selection of VW cars all recreated in breath-taking detail, this special demo will be available throughout the weekend. Gran Turismo Sport will also be playable within the prestigious TAG Heuer Drivers Club. Here drivers will be able to take their seat in a custom built PlayStation gaming pod and get access to some of the fastest, most desirable driving machines on the planet and experience the thrill of speed without limitation.

It’s the first time the game will be getting a PS4 outing, and the fourth time that the high profile racing event will have a Gran Turismo event. With an expected crowd of over 200,000, it’s one of the largest car shows in Europe, so what better fit for the best selling racing series on home consoles?

Festival of Speed founder, Lord March, commented, "We are incredibly excited to welcome the Gran Turismo game back to Goodwood for the fourth consecutive year and equally delighted that the Festival of Speed has been chosen as a platform to showcase the very exciting new Gran Turismo Sport game."

"I have always been a big admirer of the Festival of Speed," commented Kazunori Yamauchi. "We share a common passion for innovation with so many car manufacturers and we felt Goodwood Festival of Speed provides a fitting location for the UK public to enjoy playing Gran Turismo Sport for the first time."

This incarnation of the game will have a much bigger focus on eSports. There will be two official cups. The Nations Cup and the Manufacturers Fan Cup will be contested online, and both will be officially certified. The FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) will be ratifying both cups, making them particularly prestigious.
