Destiny 2's Crucible updated exactly like Destiny 1's
On launch Destiny 2 was hit with wide popularity and garnered a lot of success, even our own review praised the title, but over the months the playerbase has dwindled and fans have been shown their disappointment and raised controversy surrounding the games’ monetisation, events and support from the developers, Bungie.
In the latest news and this time it’s positive. Bungie has recently announced changes to the Destiny 2’s competitive multiplayer, with the inclusive an additional multiplayer mode, which is pretty much exactly the same as the Crucible from Destiny 1.

As part of the Iron Banner event and patch 1.1.4. due to go live on 27th March, the Iron Banner mode will now increase team sizes from 4v4 to 6v6 as well as set the Match time to 12 minutes and the respawn time to seven second, with a score limit of 125 points.
Just like in the first Destiny, all the capture zones will be neutral and as a part of a team, you have to push back the opposition and hold the zones. Holding the zone in defense will boost your super energy.
So, yeah it does look like we’re seeing a subtle multiplayer rework to make Destiny 2’s Crucial more like the first. Bungie also says its Rumble free-for-all mode is also making a return.
These will likely be permanent additions and will share the central location on the Crucible Director page, however, Bungie has said to “keep things fresh” the modes will be rotated weekly. Doubles will make a return as well, at a later date - need some more work according to Bungie, and also will be part of the rotation.
For fans of the competitive multiplayer who may have left Destiny 2, this could very well be a welcome addition to bring back some Guardians, but if not, let’s wait and see what else Bungie has in store to bring back the players.
