Destiny: Rising's Official Global Launch Date Revealed with a New Gameplay Trailer
NetEase Games has revealed the release date for Destiny: Rising, the free-to-play mobile sci-fi RPG in the Destiny universe.
Set in an alternate timeline from the rest of Destiny, this will be a new story set in the franchise. Prior to the events of the original game, it's time for a new generation of Lightbearers to take a stand. You don't need to know anything about Destiny to jump in, and it's all part of a new saga for newcomers and veterans alike to enjoy.
Taking on the role of your fully customisable Lightbearer, Wolf, you'll be able to enjoy the looter-shooter gameplay on your mobile platforms. There will be missions, strikes, PvP, and six-player PvE with a host of open world objectives. You'll find that there will be challenges available whether you want to play alone, with others, or against others. For those familiar with Destiny, you'll recognise some game modes, while there will also be new modes that will allow new ways to play.
Of course, you won't only play as Wolf. Other iconic characters include Ikora Rey and Iron Lord Jolder, and their unique abilities, will be available to play as. All Lightbearers have their own unique abilities granted to them by their Relic. You can also customise your Primary and Power Weapon, taking them into battle with you. Your characters will be able to share compatible weapons across the arsenal, so there are plenty of ways to defeat your enemies.
Fans will also be excited to find new Mythic-tier rarity gear, as well as new weapon types, and so lots of new loot for your characters.
Running up to Destiny: Rising's launch will be a pre-registration event for you to register your interest in order to unlock special bonuses at release. There will be more rewards with each player milestone, with, at the time of writing, is currently at five million players. So already, players will get 10 free draws when the game's out.
There's still plenty of time to register your interest, as Destiny: Rising's global release is on 28th August. You can pre-order it for free on both iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play.
